Dear Brothers & Sisters in the Dhamma,
The Selangor State Government will be organising a state level Wesak celebration this 5th of June, 2011 at the Jubli Perak Auditorium, Bangunan SSAAS, Shah Alam. This is a historic and ground breaking event for the Buddhist community as this will be the first time any state or federal government had ever organized and hosted an official function in conjunction with Wesak Day since the country's independence.
The event will be graced by the Menteri Besar of Selangor, the Selangor State Assembly Speaker, State Exco members, elected representatives, government officials and Buddhist community leaders.

Venue: Auditorium Dewan Jubli Perak, Bangunan SSAAS, Shah Alam (Selangor State Secretariat Office)
Admission
Entrance to this celebration cum concert is free of charge. Members of the public are advised to arrive early as general seating’s are on first-come-first-serve basis.
Official Organization Invitation
All Buddhist organizations in Selangor are invited to participate in this event as supporting organization. If your organization has yet to receive the invitation letter, please contact the organizing secretary, Bro. Chua Teck Seong at HP no. 016 22233537.
Dress Code
Dress code for official invitees (MPs, ADUNs, government officials and organization representative is Batik with long sleeve for men and decent and polite attire for women.
General public are expected to dress politely. Members of Buddhist organization may put on their respective organization attire.
Event time
The auditorium opens for the public at 7.00pm. Performance starts at 7.30pm and expected to end at 9.45pm with an interval for the official launch by the Menteri Besar of Selangor. Since seats are limited, please arrive early.
Meals
Limited goodie bags with snacks and drinking water will be available on first-come-first-serve basis. Light meals will be served AFTER the performance ends at about 9.45pm

The program for the event includes performance by some of the popular Buddhist performing groups in the country which includes Messengers of Dharma, i.gemz, Bodhi Group, One Voice One Melody, Fo Guang and Mahindarama Sunday Pali School. Dances will be presented by the internationally acclaimed Dua Space and the Temple of Fine Arts. The Fo Guang San 24 Seasons Drum Troupe will also be making their appearance.
