On the full moon Uposatha day of the 5th month, Buddhist around the world celebrate Wesak Day. It's a thrice scare day where the Queen Mayadevi gave birth to Siddhattha Gotama, the Bodhisattva in Lumbini in today's Nepal. It is also the day the young prince became enlightened after wandering in the forest for many years under a Bodhi tree. And it is also the day that marked the final passing away parinibbana of the Lord Buddha at Kushinagar in India. You can read about the these holy sites here
