In Buddhism we are taught to cultivate quality of loving kindness called Metta. Hence, in most Buddhist events, we do a little prayer to family and friends. You can also recite Metta at home daily or whenever you have time.

In Buddhism it is unique, we also send Metta prayers to our enemy. We hope by sending prayers like this, it will melt our heart towards them. So much so, one day after sending so much Metta to our enemy, the next time we meet face to face, all grudges disappear. And we can be friends again.

Lets recite together :-

May I be free from danger,
May I be free from mental suffering,
May I be free from physical suffering
May I be well and happy always.

May my parent be free from danger,
May they be free from mental suffering,
May they be free from physical suffering
May they be well and happy always.

May my teachers be free from danger,
May they be free from mental suffering,
May they be free from physical suffering
May they be well and happy always.

May my friends be free from danger,
May they be free from mental suffering,
May they be free from physical suffering
May they be well and happy always.

May indifferent ones be free from danger,
May they be free from mental suffering,
May they be free from physical suffering
May they be well and happy always.

May unfriendly ones be free from danger,
May they be free from mental suffering,
May they be free from physical suffering
May they be well and happy always.

May all beings be free from danger,
May they be free from mental suffering,
May they be free from physical suffering
May they be well and happy always.
