The Pain of Dukha

Hi,

I visited one of my old inventor friend Mr. Hong (not his real name) in the North state of Parek yesterday. We have been friends for more than 10 years. And in our course of our work in creating and promoting our own inventions respectively and, over the many years we became good friends. Now I'm 50 years old and Mr. Hong is 61 years. We have both gone through the good, bad and ugly in our lives as an inventor.

I've seen Mr. Hong's invention and I believe it is good. But he faces difficulty like many other inventors in Malaysia do. That is putting his invention in the market place. This thing about commercializing our invention is the hardest part of being a inventor. I too had my fair share of hardship. But I was lucky that age was on my side and I managed to struggle on. But with a heavy price of not having a real income for 10 years and, I had to sell off 3 pieces of my properties.I believe Mr. Hong also went through the ugly same fate as mine.

We had coffee yesterday and we spoke of many things but he is short of telling me that he wants to give-up. I could see in his eyes, he is disappointed with the situation he is in. He is a frustrated man. He mentioned "it's like the world is against good inventions". I think he is loosing his spirit. I can feel his aggravation. And it's sad to see a good horse dying this way.

I guess, this only confirms the 1st Noble truth, the existence of suffering (dukha). And it's painful
