Here's some pictures of a noble sight. A lady giving alms to the noble ones. Which I retrieved from Kenneth Say's Face book. He also mentioned that when performing dana to Monks during pindapat, the right way to do it is to take off your shoes. Knee down and give alms from left to right. That's starting for the most senior monk
